Qualifications and Medical Disclaimer

Natural Stress Therapy, which opened in 1990, is the brain child of Antonia Dias-Ruhl.

Antonia was born in Brazil and learned various natural therapies including the therapeutic use of Amazonian herbs from a very young age. Her training has been mostly in the shamanistic tradition of apprenticeships with various masters in their respective fields.

Antonia is a certified counsellor and has been trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy and Timeline Therapy and has a PhD in Philosophy. She is also a registered Marriage Celebrant.

Whilst Antonia Ruhl has extensive experience learning tribal medicine and about the therapeutic benefits of Amazonian plants, her and the other employees of the Natural Stress Therapy Clinic (“NSTC”) are not medical practitioners, nurses, or psychiatrists. NSTC will prepare all tonics, herbs, vitamin or mineral supplements and all other advice given with respect to treatments and wellbeing with all due care and skill and to the best of their skills and experience. The employees and staff of the NSTC are not authorized to prescribe any form of medication nor will they advise any patient to cease taking any medication as prescribed by a patient’s general practitioner or other specialists.

If you are currently under the care of a licensed health professional you should seek their advice before engaging our services. Nothing that happens in your therapy sessions with us should be construed as, nor should you believe that it is a substitute for the advice of a licensed person.

What to Expect: We believe all healing comes from within you and lay no claim to any abilities to heal or treat any illnesses, diseases or conditions. Our aim is to allow your own healing energies to work more effectively.

NSTC will discuss with all patients their purpose and expectation to assist each individual patient with the treatments provided by the clinic. Antonia Ruhl and/or other staff of NSTC will advise each individual patient of the treatments available and which treatment would be the most suitable in each individual situation. Antonia Ruhl and/or other staff will also advise what patients can expect and what benefits each patient may derive from undertaking treatments and following the advice provided by NSTC. All treatments and advice provided by NSTC are given to each individual patient with all due care and skill and to the best of each employee’s ability, qualifications and experience.

Important Information: NSTC is recognized as being an effective and safe provider of natural therapies. However, you must recognize that there are associated with all health care procedures, risks that you should be informed about. Please read the following statements carefully: I acknowledge that I have discussed with Antonia Ruhl and or other staff of NSTC the risks associated with my proposed care. They include but are not limited to potential interaction with medications or herbs I may be taking from another health provider or self-prescribed.

• I have had the opportunity to discuss the proposed care with Antonia Ruhl and/or other staff of NSTC. I acknowledge that I have had the opportunity to ask questions about the nature, extent and purposes of the proposed treatment I have been given sufficient time to make the decision to give consent for the care to proceed.
• I acknowledge that I am aware of and understand the potential risks of care. I appreciate the results are not guaranteed.
• I do not expect Antonia Ruhl or her staff to be able to anticipate all potential risks and complications of care.
• I acknowledge that I am aware that I am at liberty to discuss my therapy sessions with a licensed health care professional at any time and that the NSTC and/or its employees and agents, liability is limited to the amount paid for any therapy to the NSTC.
• I will not hold NSTC liable for any injury, illness, loss or damage arising out of their normal treatment of me.
• I am cognizant of the above and I hereby give my consent to the performance of the proposed Natural Stress Therapy by Antonia Ruhl and/or any other natural stress therapists working in this clinic.
• I understand I can stop treatment at any time.

Confidentiality
We keep all information we receive from you confidential and do not disclose it to persons outside our company. All client information is kept strictly confidential and is only for our internal use unless legal obligations require us to disclose information to government agencies.

Your Choice, Your Responsibility
While, during the session, we will offer you advice, treatment and other ways of looking at your problem and its solutions for your consideration, you hereby agree that whatever we discuss is only our perspective and is not binding upon you, nor is it a prescription. If you want to discuss other suggestions with someone else, you should discuss them with a licensed health care provider. It is your responsibility to confirm whether or not any changes we made produced the desired results. It is your responsibility to communicate your results to us.
